“Still in a way, nobody sees a flower – really it is so small.
We haven’t time and to see takes time.” GEORGIA O’KEEFE
With utmost integrity I explore my world, with both child-like wonder and prudence, responding to it with as much artistic and human sensitivity and awareness as possible. Hopefully my work elicits this response from you, the viewer, to actively participate in life and continuously pursue in search of your identity as have I. How fortunate that I have also discovered the amazing healing that occurs through art, which has truly been my life support for years. Most recently, I have experienced a tremendous sense of satisfaction and reward in teaching. Typically, my student is the one who is so certain he has absolutely no creative ability…not so. What a delightful process and surprise to get in touch with the artist within. See www.artisticadventurespd.com.
My emphasis is working with form, texture and color. By mixing a variety of materials, whether paper, cloth, cardboard and even bark, I strive to create that feeling of balance and harmony. I do, however, find great excitement and surprises as images are transformed. The tactile manipulation and arrangement - the cutting, tearing, folding, soaking and pasting - as well as combining and integrating objects with other media presents an enormous challenge. I'm continuously challenging both my imagination and creativity and enjoy exploring composition and elements of design. Rarely do I work from a pre-conceived notion, but let the ideas flow as I begin. I earnestly attemp to reveal a vitality of spirit and celebration of life. Though collage is still a primary focus, I am currently experimenting with assemblages, baskets, boxes and gourds. I have become passionate about gourd art, a Native American art form, giving it a contemporary twist and a "Touch of of Klass."

I invite you to enjoy my website. All work is original. I'd love to create a special piece for you that will meet your color and/or size specifications. For more information contact me directly at betty@klassart.com.
